The screener lets you start from rules instead of tips. It filters on sector, country, exchange, industry, dividend yield, market cap, price, beta, volume and a 0–100 quality score. What comes back is a list to research, not a list to buy — and writing the rules down before you look at any names is what stops the names from writing the rules.

Two of the most useful dividend rules aren't filters. There's no payout ratio or growth-streak filter, so check both by hand: open a result and read its Payout Ratio, then count the steps up on its dividend chart, which shows up to its last 30 payments. Anything that survives goes on your watchlist from the same view, with Add to wishlist.

Yield above 3%Beta under 1Then by hand: payout, streakA shortlist to research

Rules first, names second. The screener applies the first two; you apply the rest.

DO IT IN THE APP

0 of 5 done
  1. Write your rules down before you open the screener. The tool below turns them into filters.
  2. Set the ones it can filter. The filters sit in four groups you open from their headers: Dividend yield (%) and Min quality score under Income & quality, Market cap ($B) under Size & price, Beta under Risk & liquidity, Sector under Sector & market. Or open the link the tool builds, which fills them in for you. Open the screener →
  3. Open each result and read its Payout Ratio.
  4. Count the years of raises on its dividend chart.
  5. Add the survivors with Add to wishlist, and leave the rest.

TRY IT

Write the rules, then open them

Set the rules you'd screen on. The ones the screener can filter become a link; the rest become your checklist.

Dividend yield at least 3%Beta at most 1Payout ratio under 70% — by handDividend raised for 10 years in a row — by hand

The screener applies 2 of these rules for you. The rest you check yourself, for each result: Payout Ratio in each result's detail view; and the steps up on the dividend chart in each result's detail view.
