LESSON 12.10 · FOUNDATION

What your investor persona is actually for

It shapes what the app shows you first. It never decides what you can do.

BEHAVIOUR3 MIN READ

Your investor persona is one of eight profiles — Seedling, Outsourcer, Slow Grower, Fortress Builder, Thrill-Seeker, Sprinter, Strategist and Power Investor — set by a three-question quiz when you join, or picked directly in Settings, where you can change it or retake the quiz at any time. It changes what the app puts first: the metrics in a holding's focus card, whether its dividend or growth analysis comes first, the screener's top picks, and which measures make up your Portfolio Health score.

It never decides what you can do. No widget, stock or feature is locked or unlocked by persona; only your plan does that. Nor is it a measure of your risk capacity — how big a fall you could afford — or your time horizon, which depend on your life rather than on three questions. The app doesn't measure either — the closest it has is the optional retirement date in Goal Planning — and it doesn't keep your quiz answers. A persona is a starting view: changing it changes what you see first, not your holdings or what you can use.
