GLOSSARY

Total Value

Portfolio Metrics

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

What your holdings would be worth if you sold everything at today's prices. It ignores cash accounts and any shares you've already sold.

FULL DEFINITION

The current market value of all shares you still hold, converted into your portfolio currency.

EXAMPLE

You hold 100 shares at £12 and 50 shares at £8. Total Value = (100 × £12) + (50 × £8) = £1,600.

HOW IT'S CALCULATED

For each holding: shares held × latest price, where shares held = total shares bought − total shares sold. Each holding is converted from its own trading currency into your portfolio currency using current FX rates, then all holdings are summed.
