IN PLAIN ENGLISH
The biggest things the fund owns. If the top ten add up to a large share, a few companies drive much of the fund's return.
FULL DEFINITION
The largest individual investments inside a fund, each as a percentage of the fund's value.
EXAMPLE
An S&P 500 tracker's top ten might make up 35% of the fund together, with the largest at 7.8%.
HOW IT'S CALCULATED
The market data provider lists up to ten holdings with their weights, shown largest first. Together = the sum of those weights × 100. A fund of funds lists other funds here, and some bond funds list none.
