WHY IT HELPS
Lets you spot trends, volatility, and momentum signals for any holding directly on the dashboard, without leaving your portfolio view. Useful for timing top-up decisions and identifying overbought or oversold conditions.
HOW IT'S CALCULATED
Price line: daily closing price from Yahoo Finance (up to 5 years). SMA N: arithmetic mean of the last N closing prices. EMA N: exponentially weighted average that gives more weight to recent prices (multiplier = 2/(N+1)). Bollinger Bands: SMA 20 ± 2 standard deviations of the last 20 closes — the shaded fill shows the band width. Volume bars are colour-coded green (close ≥ prior close) or red (close < prior close). Settings (stock, timeframe, overlays) are saved per account.
