IN PLAIN ENGLISH
The dashboard's Goals widget: your income target, stock portfolio target and retirement date tracked as progress, plus value goals for anything you own or owe — cash, net worth, pensions, a mortgage paid down — and any goals you've written in yourself.
WHY IT HELPS
Keeps your targets visible across everything you own, not only the stock portfolio.
HOW IT'S CALCULATED
Income and growth progress are explained under Goal Planning Engine. A value goal for something you're building up = its value today ÷ your target × 100, capped at 100%. A goal to pay debts down = (what you owed when you set the goal − what you owe now) ÷ (what you owed then − your target) × 100; at or under the target it's 100%. The figures are the Balance Sheet's (see Total Assets, Total Liabilities, Net Worth): the whole portfolio, never a stock-filtered slice. A goal whose figure isn't valued yet — a wallet, card or metal still being priced, no exchange rate — shows "—" rather than a figure that leaves part out. Written goals are text and aren't measured.
