GLOSSARY

Div Yield (Cost)

Dividend Analysis

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Your personal yield based on your purchase price. As the dividend grows over time, this number becomes much higher than the current yield.

FULL DEFINITION

Yield on Cost. It calculates the dividend yield based on what you originally paid for the stock.

EXAMPLE

You bought at $10. The dividend is now $1. Your personal yield (Cost) is 10%.

HOW IT'S CALCULATED

Calculated from your own ledger, not the data provider: dividends recorded for this holding over the last twelve months ÷ the holding's cost × 100. Both sides are converted to your portfolio currency first, using the same shared calculation the holdings table uses, so the two figures always agree. Shows N/A when cost is zero or missing, or when no dividend was recorded in the last twelve months. The cost is the cost of the shares you still hold, so selling part of a position raises this figure.
