IN PLAIN ENGLISH
What your portfolio has paid you over the past year. It looks back at dividends actually booked to your holdings rather than forecasting the year ahead, so a newly added holding reads low until it has a full year of payments behind it.
FULL DEFINITION
Dividend income recorded against your holdings over the last twelve months, in your portfolio currency.
EXAMPLE
Three holdings paid £120, £80 and £45 over the last twelve months. Annual Dividend = £245.
HOW IT'S CALCULATED
Sums every dividend recorded against your holdings dated within the last twelve months, converting each from the holding's currency into your portfolio currency. Dividends are booked automatically as each ex-dividend date passes, for the shares you held on that date. Future estimates are excluded — the Estimated Dividends chart shows the year ahead.
